Types of Incentive System According to Werther and Davis.

Werther and Davis (1996: 413) writes the kinds of incentives as follows:

a. Piecework
Piecework is an incentive system that compensates the worker for each unit output. Daily or weekly pay is determined by multiplaying the output in units times the rate per unit

b. Productions bonuses
Production bonuses are incentive paid to workers for exceeding output golas. Often employees receive a base pay rate. Then, througth extra effort that results in output above the standard, they get a supplemental bonus, wich is usually figured at a given rate for each unit of production over the standard

c. Comissions
In sales jobs, the seller may be paid a percentage of the selling price or a flat amount for each unit sold. When no base compentation is paid, total earnings come from commissions

d. Maturity Curves
Another approach is maturity curves, which are adjustments to the top of the rate range for selected jobs.Employees are rated on productivity and experience

e. Merit Raises
Merit raises are pay increases given after an evaluation of performance. These raises are usually decided by the employee’s immediate supervisor, often in conjuction with superiors. Althougt merit raises reward above-average performance, they are seldom tied to any specific payout standard

f. Nonmonetary Incentives
Incentives usually mean money, but performance incentives also come in other forms. For example, many companieshave recognition program in which employees receive plaques, novelty items, certificate, time off, vacarions and other noncash incentives for job performance

g. Incentives Executives
Incentives-especially executive incentives needed to achieve a balance between short-them results and long term performance

h. International Incentives
To attract, retain and motivate international executives and key employees, many global companies are setting up “foreign allowances” that are incentivesfor international employees.

Financial Sustainability Ratio

Financial Sustainability Ratio is the ratio to measure the sustainability of a bank in terms of bank performance. One also as an additional target their own capital. Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR) can be used to plan what to do at that moment in the days to come. (Amalia Rizky, 2004).

Financial Sustainability Ratio (FSR) is a measure for assessing the efficiency of an institution (Soeksmono 1995: 103 in Amalia Rizky, 2004) this ratio is used to determine the growth rate of each period so as to note the financial performance of the bank to conduct its operations or not.
In order to obtain higher profits, banks should try to do business or activities that support the bank's growth rate. Destination banks to generate huge profits is to achieve the returns themselves (Soeksmono, 1995:103 in Amalia Rizky, 2004). This is because of the losses from loans are not paid. This means that a bank will operate more effectively and efficiently if the bank was able to maintain good performance and try to reduce the risks that exist (Soeksmono, 1995:110 in Amalia Rizky, 2004).

Financial Sustainability (www.wbln0018.worldbank) is an organization's ability to compare all the costs (financial costs, such as interest charges on loans, and operating costs, eg salaries, equipment, inventories) for cash or income earned from activities carried out ( such as interest income and income from bank deposits).
Financial Sustainability consists of two components, namely expenses (expense), and income (revenue). Financial sustainability is said well if its value is greater than 100%, meaning that the total income must be greater than the total cost.

Definition of Marketing & Service

Definition of Marketing
Marketing according to William J. Stanton, Michael J. Etzel and Bruce J. Walker (Djaslim Saladin, 2001:2) is a total system of business activities which are designed to distribute goods which can satisfy wants and reach the target as well as the objective of organization.

Another definition from American Marketing Association (Lamb et al, 2001:6), marketing is the process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and meet organization goal.

Marketing according to Philip Kotler and Gary Amstrong (2001:7) is a social process and managerial that can enable individuals and groups reach their needs through the creation and exchange of products and value with other people.

Definition of Service
Definition of service according to Murti Sumarni (2002:17) is an activity or an advantage which can be given by a party to another party which is mostly intangible and can not affect ownership, and its production or is not related to any tangible product.”

A service is also an activity or series of activities of more or less intangible nature that normally, but not necessarily, take pace in interactions between the customer and service employees and/or physical resources or goods and/or system of the service provider, which are provided as solutions to customer problems (Gronroos, 1990).

According to Philip Kotler (1997) service is an action or an activity which can be offered by a party to another party, which is basically intangible and can not affect any ownership. Service may be related to tangible product or intangible product.

In addition, Philip Kotler and Amstrong (1996:383) explains definition of service as an activity or an advantage which is given by one party to another party which is basically intangible and can not effect any ownership.

Furthermore, Zeithamal et.al. (1996) give a limitation of service by stating that service is all economic activities whose output is not a physical product or a construction is generally consumed at the time it is produced, and provides added value in forms (such as convenience, amusement, comfort or health).

On the other hand, Steinhoff (1979:113) further states that the raw material of services is people. The main material of service is in fact people; nevertheless, there are many other supporting factors from the raw material of service such as advanced tools, clean, secured, comfortable physical environment, accurate, advanced, and up to date technology and service.

Lamb et. al. (2001:483) also mention that service has several unique characteristics, which differ it from the others, namely intangible, inseparability, heterogeneity, perishability.

Handi Irawan D (2002:53) also states that one important characteristic of service is it is produced and consumed at the same time. Therefore, customers’ satisfaction on service depends on interaction process or time when costumers and service provider meet.

Lirik My Chemical Romance – Welcome To Black Parade

When I was

A young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.

He said,
"Son when you grow up
Will you be the saviour of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"

He said
"Will you defeat them,
your demons, and all the non believers,
the plans that they have made?"

Because one day I'll leave you,
A phantom to lead you in the summer,
To join the black parade."

When I was a young boy,
My father
took me into the city
To see a marching band.
He said, "Son when you grow up
Would you be the saviour of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"

Sometimes I get the feeling
She's watching over me.
And other times I feel like I should go.

Through it all,
The rise and fall,
The bodies in the streets.
And when you're gone we want you all to know

We'll Carry on,
We'll Carry on
Though your dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on

And in my heart I cant contain it
The anthem wont explain it.

A world that sends you reeling
From decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all

So paint it black
And take it back
Lets shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end we hear the call

To carry on
We'll carry on
Though your dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
You're weary widow marches

And on we carry through the fears
Ooh oh ohhhh
Disappointed faces of your peers
Ooh oh ohhhh
Take a look at me
Cause I could not care at
All

Do or die
You'll never make me
Because the world,
Will never take my heart
Go and try,
You'll never break me
We want it all,
We want to play this part

I won't explain
Or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed I'm gonna show my scar
Give a cheer
For all the broken
Listen here
Because it's who we are

I'm just a man,
I'm not a hero
Just a boy, who had to sing this song
I'm just a man,
I'm not a hero
I
don't
care

We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
You're memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches on

We'll carry on

Lirik The Jam - That's Entertainment Lyrics

Jam

Miscellaneous
Thats Entertainment
Well,
To whoever out there wanted them, here are the lyrics to "That's
Entertainment" by the Jam.

A police car and a screaming siren -
A pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete -
A baby wailing and stray dog howling -
The screech of brakes and lamp light blinking -
That's Entertainment.

A smash of glass and a rumble of boots -
An electric train and a ripped up 'phone booth -
Paint splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat -
Lights going out and a kick in the balls -

That's Entertainment.

Days of speed and slow time Mondays -
Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday -
Watching the news and not eating your tea -
A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls -

That's Entertainment.

Waking up at 6 a.m. on a cool warm morning -
Opening the windows and breathing in petrol -
An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard -
[ Jam Lyrics
Watching the tele and thinking about your holidays -

That's Entertainment.

Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes -
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume -
A hot summer's day and sticky black tarmac -
Fedding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away -

That's Entertainment.

Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight -
Two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude -
Getting a cab and travelling on buses -
Reading the graffiti about slashed seat affairs -

That's Entertainment.

Lirik Lagu Neyo - Black Angel Lyrics

Nights full of fears, eyes full of tears
Cus u been hearin the same lies for 5 years.
Fresh out of high school he pursued his career
And u played the house wife roll for dude and his kids
But now u can't get a break no matter how hard u try,
Your life's on the line everytime u start up the ride
Cus u never got ur L's but its hard not to drive
When ur baby got a cold and the car is outside
Plus the hospital is far and ur dude ran out on ya
Just because he said that u had a mouth on ya,
Becus u would scream and holla
when he walk up in the room with maybeline up on his collar
And he didn't even bother to consider his child
He said he'd always be around but what's so different now?
You stressin now cause u can figure it out
But keep ur head in the clouds girl
continue to smile girl
Cus baby u are a

Black angel, Oh baby you are so fly
Black angel. Girl don't let him hold you down
Get up and just spread your wings and fly
Black angel

He swept u off your feet when u met it was love at first sight
He didn't even curse, said he was the Church type
Was almost Mr. Right until ur first fight
And u found out he was worse than ike
Cus he hit you in the face so hard that I hurt to bite
Now your uncertain of this person you liked
But you keep making excuses for him being abusive cause you want it to work this time

So you convince your mind that it fine
But in time your gonna find
That real love aint defined with violence
And if your crying every night
just cause some guy decided its ahhite
To hit you in the eye then its time
That you learn from the mistakes
of those that chose to stay
Cause most of em are gone today
And there's a gang of sistas
that would probably still be with us
If they would've just flown away Neyo gone and sang

You're fly
Black angel. Oh baby u are so fly
Black angel. Girl don't let him hold you down
Get up and just spread your wings and fly
Black angel

Babygirl stop depending on your man for love
And start depending on the man above

About Halon Fire Extinguishers

This information taken from
http://safetyinfo.wordpress.com
Halon used to be the extinguishing agent of choice for companies looking to protect computer equipment and other high tech facilities. The green portable fire extinguishers containing halon 1211 (pronounced “twelve-eleven”) were popular because they could be used on any type of fire, and particularly on delicate electrical equipment, as Halon 1211 did not damage high tech equipment.

Halon extinguishers contain a halogenated hydrocarbon agent forced
into a liquid state by pressure. The most common halons for portable extinguishers are Halon 1211 (bromochlorodifluoromethane) and Halon 1301 (bromotrifluoromethane).

This type of extinguisher is available in several sizes from 1.5 to 22
pounds (0.68 to 9.9 kilos). Discharge times range from 8 to 30 seconds. Discharge range is from 9 to 15 feet (2.7 to 4.6 meters). These extinguishers are also available in 150-pound (68 kilo) wheeled units which have discharge times of 30 to 35 seconds and a range of 10 to 18 feet (3 to 5.5 meters).

Halon extinguishers have several advantages. They can be used on class B or C fires, and larger units are also approved for use on class A fires. Halon leaves no residue, so cleanup is not a problem. The units are not subject to freezing, so they can be placed outside or in unheated areas. Generally, they offer more effective fire control than carbon dioxide extinguishers.

Halon extinguishers also have a number of disadvantages. For example, the smaller units are not suitable for class A fires, and halon is expensive. Recharge costs can approach or exceed the initial purchase price. Halons have also been identified as contributing to the depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere. Regulations governing the use of halons are likely to become more restrictive.

Safety Info - Dry Powder – Class D Extinguishers

This information taken from
http://safetyinfo.wordpress.com

For metallic flammable solids (e.g., phosphorus, sodium, lithium, magnesium) do not use water, foam or carbon dioxide as a fire suppressant. Dousing metallic fires with water may generate hydrogen gas, an extremely dangerous explosion hazard, particularly if fire is in a confined environment. Additionally, fires involving flammable metals (lithium, sodium, potassium etc.) or flammable metal compounds (butyllithium, diethylzinc etc.) can be fueled by using water or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. You must have a class D – Dry Powder extinguisher on hand if you are using these materials.

Dry powder extinguishers are available in stored pressure and cartridge operated units containing one of several available dry powder agents. This type of extinguisher is available in 30-pound (13.6 kilo) cartridge operated units. The agent is also obtainable for manual application with a scoop. Discharge times range from 30 to 60 seconds, and the discharge range is from 6 to 8 feet (1.8 to 2.4 meters). Dry powder extinguishers are also available in 150 and 350 pound (68 and 159 kilo) wheeled units. Dry powder extinguishers are suitable only for class D fires and are the only effective fire control agents for this type of fire. Dry powder agents must be evaluated in relation to the specific combustible metal that is being protected. These extinguishers can be recharged in-house.

dry-powder-catridge-type
Dry powder agents are designed to control fires in combustible metals (class D). The two most common agents in this category are G-1 and Met-L-X. Dry powders function by creating a crust over the surface of the burning metal. To extinguish the fire, this crust must completely cover the burning surface. These agents are usually applied by hand scoop or portable fire extinguisher. Graphite and sodium chloride are two common examples of these agents. There are several Class D fire extinguisher agents available, some will handle multiple types of metals, others will not.

* Sodium Chloride (Super-D, Met-L-X or METAL.FIRE.XTNGSHR) – contains sodium chloride salt and thermoplastic additive. Plastic melts to form a oxygen-excluding crust over the metal, and the salt dissipates heat. Useful on most metals, magnesium, titanium, aluminium, sodium, potassium, and zirconium.

* Copper based (Copper Powder Navy125S)-developed by the U.S. Navy in the 70s for hard to control lithium and lithium alloy fires. Powder smothers and acts as a heat sink to dissipate heat, but also forms a copper-lithium alloy on the surface which is non-combustible and cuts off the oxygen supply. Will cling to a vertical surface-lithium only.

* Graphite based (G-Plus, G-1, Lith-X, Pyromet or METAL.FIRE.XTNGSHR)-contains dry graphite that smothers burning metals. First type developed, designed for magnesium, works on other metals as well. Unlike sodium chloride powder extinguishers, the graphite powder fire extinguishers can be used on very hot burning metal fires such as lithium, but unlike copper powder extinguishers will not stick to and extinguish flowing or vertical lithium fires. Like copper extinguishers, the graphite powder acts as a heat sink as well as smothering the metal fire.

* Sodium carbonate based (Na-X)-used where stainless steel piping and equipment could be damaged by sodium chloride based agents to control sodium, potassium, and sodium-potassium alloy fires. NA-X agent is recommended wherever stress corrosion of stainless steel must be kept to an absolute minimum. Limited use on other metals. Smothers and forms a crust.

Most Class D extinguishers will have a special low velocity nozzle or discharge wand to gently apply the agent in large volumes to avoid disrupting any finely divided burning materials. Agents are also available in bulk and can be applied with a scoop or shovel.

About Flammability (measurement)

This information taken from
http://safetyinfo.wordpress.com

Flashpoint:
The flashpoint is the temperature at which a liquid gives off sufficient vapors for an external ignition source to cause a flame to flash across the surface of the liquid. However, if the ignition source is removed, the flame will go out because self-sustained combustion is not possible at this temperature.Flashpoint is tested using apparatus like Cleveland Open Cup ASTM D-92, and Pensky-Martens Closed Cup ASTM D-93

Firepoint:
Firepoint is the temperature at which the material will begin self-sustained combustion if an external ignition source is used to initiate the process. This temperature is usually only slightly higher than the flashpoint.
Flammability Limit or Explosive Limit:
It is percentage mixture of flammable vapor or gas in air that can be ignited. The flammable range is the area between the upper (UFL) and lower (LFL) flammable limits, also referred to as explosive limits (UEL and LEL). Gasoline, for example, has a lower flammable limit of approximately 1.5 and an upper flammable limit of approximately 7.5. This means that if its vapors are mixed in the surrounding air between 1.5 and 7.5%, and an ignition source is introduced, it will burn or explode. If the percent of vapors in air were 1%, the mixture would be too lean to burn because sufficient fuel would not be present. If the percent of vapors in air were 10%, the mixture would be too rich to burn because there would be too much fuel relative to the oxygen.

About Fire

This information taken from
http://safetyinfo.wordpress.com

Fire is rapid, self-sustaining oxidation accompanied by the evolution of varying intensities of heat and light. This definition indicates that fire is a chemical process of decomposition in which the rapid oxidation of a fuel produces heat and light.

Fire Triangle
Three basic elements must be present for a fire to occur: fuel, heat, and oxygen. These three components make up the fire triangle , and proper combination of these three items invariably results in a fire. There must be oxygen to sustain the combustion, heat to raise the material to its ignition temperature, Fuel to support the combustion and a Chemical reaction between the three elements. The chemical chain reaction between the fuel, heat, and oxygen represents the fourth component of the fire equation. We will refer to this as the fire tetrahedron. Anytime something burns, these four components are present. Preventing the combination of these elements will prevent a fire. If one of the four elements is removed from the fire situation, the fire will be extinguished.

In a fire, it is the vapors that are actually burning, so the closer the fuel is to the vapor state, the easier it is to ignite. Liquids ignite more readily than solids, gases more easily than liquids.

The physical state of the fuel is also important. A solid wooden board is more difficult to ignite than wood shavings due to the mass to surface area ratio. If the mass is large and the surface area small, as with the solid board, the heat of an ignition source is more easily dissipated through the material and hence there is less chance for ignition and fire. If the mass is small and the surface area large, as with wood shavings, the heat cannot be dissipated as quickly, and ignition occurs more easily.

Dust is an example of reducing mass relative to the surface area. Given the proper conditions, many dusts may explode. Grain and coal dust are two common varieties of dust that can explode

Classification of Fire

Class A fires involve ordinary combustible materials: wood, paper, trash, plasic and cloth. Class A fires are usually relatively slow in their initial development and growth, and because these materials are solids, they are somewhat easier to contain. Class A fires leave an ash after the material has been consumed.

Class A Fire

Class B fires involve flammable and combustible liquids and flammable gases such as Gasoline, Fuel oil, Paint, Butane and Propane. These fires usually develop and grow very rapidly. Class B materials are fluid in nature, which allows them to flow and move. This makes dealing with them somewhat more difficult than Class A materials. These materials are common in many settings. These fires typically do not leave an ash.

Class B Fire
Class C fires involve energized electrical equipment such as motors, appliances, and machinery. This is the only classification of the five that is not directly related to the type of fuel. The fact that a live electrical circuit is involved is the determining factor. Remove the power and the burning materials may actually fall into one or more of the four other classes. If the electric power is disconnected, the fire is no longer considered class C. Whether the device being considered is turned on or not is unimportant in this classification. Power to the device makes it Class C even if the device is turned off.

Class C Fire
Class D fires involve combustible metals such as Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, Aluminium, Titanium, and Zirconium. These materials are usually difficult to ignite but create intense fires once started. Class D fires are very difficult to extinguish, but, fortunately, they are relatively uncommon in most industries.

Class D Fire
Class K fires involve cooking oils and greases such as animal fats and vegetable fats. This is the newest of the fire classes.

Water and Foam Fire Extinguishers

This information taken from
http://safetyinfo.wordpress.com

They extinguish the fire by taking away the heat element of the fire triangle (i.e by sudden cooling). Foam agents also separate the oxygen element from the other elements of the fire triangle (i.e fuel, heat and Chemical Reaction).

Water Extinguishers are for Class A fires only – they should not be used on Class B or Class C fires. The disharge stream could spread the flammable liquid in a Class B fire or could create a shock hazard on a Class C fire. Water cans are easily refilled by filling the cylinder with water about 3/4 of the way up. The top is then screwed back on and the unit is pressurized with an aircompressor. They contain 2.5 gallons of water or water with a wetting agent which is applied by means of a 1/2 inch hose with a smooth-bore nozzle attached to the tip. They produce a 40-50 foot stream of water, with a discharge time of about 45 seconds Although only effective on only Class A fires, they have the advantage of being inexpensive, harmless, and easily refilled as well as having the advantage causing no mess, resulting in easy clean-up.

Foam Extinguishers can be used on Class A & Class B fires only. They can’t be used on Class C because of Electrical Shock Hazard.

Class B fires can be controlled with foam extinguishers. Unlike
any other type of portable fire extinguisher, foam extinguishers can cover Class B spills with foam to help prevent ignition.
Foam extinguishers also have a number of disadvantages. For example, these units are only effective on class A and B fires and can be dangerous if used on class C or D fires. The extinguishers are relatively heavy. In any area that is not continuously heated, the unit is subject to freezing. Antifreeze can be added to prevent freezing, but that makes maintenance more difficult.

Fire Retardant Foam, or fire suppression foam, is a foam used for fire suppression. Its role is to cool the fire and to coat the fuel, preventing its contact with oxygen, resulting in suppression of the combustion. The surfactants used need to produce foam in concentration of less than 1%.

Other components of fire retardant foams are organic solvents (eg. trimethyltrimethylene glycol and hexylene glycol), foam stabilizers (e.g. lauryl alcohol), and corrosion inhibitors.

Low-expansion foams have an expansion rate less than 20 times. Foams with expansion ratio between 20-200 are medium expansion. Low-expansion foams such as AFFF are low-viscosity, mobile, and able to quickly cover large areas.

High-expansion foams have an expansion rate over 200. They are suitable for enclosed spaces such as hangars, where quick filling is needed.

Alcohol-resistant foams contain a polymer that forms a protective layer between the burning surface and the foam, preventing foam breakdown by alcohols in the burning fuel. Alcohol resistant foams should be used in fighting fires of fuels containing oxygenates, eg. MTBE, or fires of liquids based on or containing polar solvents.

Class A foams
A fire truck demonstrating Class A foam in a CAFS system

Used for Class A fires, including structure fires. Class A foams facilitate wetting of class A fuels, lowering the surface tension of the water and assisting saturation of them with water, aiding fire suppression and preventing reignition.

Class B foams

Class B foams are designed for class B fires – flammable liquids. The use of class A foam on a class B fire may yield unexpected results, as class A foams are not designed to contain the explosive vapors produced by flammable liquids. Class B foams have two major subtypes.

Synthetic foams

Synthetic foams are based on synthetic surfactants. Synthetic foams provide better flow, faster knockdown of flames, but limited post-fire security.
Aqueous film forming foams (AFFF) are water-based, frequently containing sodium alkyl sulfate, and/or perfluoro telomer as surfactants. They have the ability to spread over the surface of hydrocarbon-based liquids. Alcohol-resistant aqueous film forming foams (AR-AFFF) are foams resistant to the action of alcohols, able to form a protective film when they are present.

Protein foams

Protein foams contain natural proteins as the foaming agents. Unlike other synthetic foams, protein foams are bio-degradable. They flow and spread slower, but provide a foam blanket that is more heat resistant and more durable.

Protein foams include regular protein foam (P), fluoroprotein foam (FP), alcohol resistant fluoroprotein foam (AR-FP), film forming fluoroprotein (FFFP), and alcohol-resistant film forming fluoroprotein (AR-FFFP).

Protein Foam from non-animal sources is preferred because of the possible threats of biological contaminants like prions.

Every type of foam has its application. High-expansion foams are used when an enclosed space, such as a basement or hangar, needs to be quickly filled. Low-expansion foams are used on burning spills. AFFF is best for spills of jet fuels, FFFP is better for cases where the burning fuel can form deeper pools, AR-AFFFF is suitable for burning alcohols. The most flexibility is achieved by AR-AFFF or AR-FFFP. AR-AFFF must be used in areas where gasolines are blended with oxygenates, since the alcohols prevent the formation of the film between the FFFP foam and the gasoline, breaking down the foam, rendering the FFFP foam virtually useless.

Applied to fuel fires as either an aspirated (mixed & expanded with air in a branch pipe) or non aspirated form to form a frothy blanket or seal over the fuel, preventing oxygen reaching it. Unlike powder, foam can be used to progressively extinguish fires without flashback.

* AFFF (aqueous film forming foam), used on A and B fires and for vapor suppression. The most common type in portable extinguishers. It contains fluoro tensides [4] which can be accumulated in human body. The long-term effects of this on the human body and environment are unclear at this time.
* AR-AFFF (Alcohol-resistant aqueous film forming foams), used on fuel fires containing alcohol. Forms a membrane between the fuel and the foam preventing the alcohol from breaking down the foam blanket.
* FFFP (film forming fluoroprotein) contains naturally occurring proteins from animal by-products and synthetic film-forming agents to create a foam blanket that is more heat resistant then the strictly synthetic AFFF foams. FFFP works well on alcohol-based liquids and is used widely in motorsports.
* CAFS (compressed air foam system) Any APW style extinguisher that is charged with a foam solution and pressurized with compressed air. Generally used to extend a water supply in wildland operations. Used on class A fires and with very dry foam on class B for vapor suppression.
* Arctic Fire is a liquid fire extinguishing agent that emulsifies and cools heated materials quicker than water or ordinary foam. It is used extensively in the steel industry. Effective on classes A, B, and D.
* FireAde, a foaming agent that emulsifies burning liquids and renders them non-flammable. It is able to cool heated material and surfaces similar to CAFS. Used on A and B (said to be effective on some class D hazards, although not recommended due to the fact that fireade still contains amounts of water which will react with some metal fires).

Main Variable Product Attributes

Kotler and Armstrong classifies product attributes on three important elements (Kotler & Armstrong 2001:299), namely:

>> Product Quality (Product Quality)
Product Quality (Product Quality) is the ability of a given product's performance in accordance with its function (such as durability, accuracy, ease of operation, and repairs). Quality is considered a very important role in terms of consumers and producers. For consumers, by increasing the quality of a product will further enhance satisfaction with the offered goods producers. For producers, the increasing quality of products means an increase in market share and the ability to increase or the creation of profit.
Product quality has two dimensions, namely level (level) and consistency. This means that a product if the quality is said to meet these two dimensions, namely the product has good quality and delivered consistently over time.

>> Recommended Products (Product Features)
Recommended products (Product Features) is a tool for distinguishing competing products a company with another company (the features that provide additional benefits of a product). In general, the characteristics inherent in a product is the result of the development and improvement continuously.

To be able to know what is in vogue and customer needs, companies should conduct periodic surveys to find the level of customer preference toward product offerings, the most desirable features of the products, features that can improve product performance, and reasonable costs incurred to take advantage of features -feature.

>> Product Design
Another way to add value for customers is through a different product design. The design has a wider concept than style (Style). More styles featured on the aspects of performance regardless of product performance. Style is not necessarily add to the comfort is not uncommon even with the latest model of convenience disrupt the primary use of a product. Design consider factors other than an attractive appearance. Design can improve the performance of a product. A good design can attract the attention of consumers, improve product performance, reduce production costs, and increase competitive advantage.
